In terms of value and completeness, this model is hard to beat. It’s a great setup right out of the box, eliminating a lot of the headache of assembling a piecemeal set. In contrast, ordering the AXCM175CK gets you an extremely elegant front-mount quiver, three 20″ carbon arrows, and a nicely dialed 4×32 scope. It is unfortunately very common to see bows be little more than bare-bones kits. Beyond the firing rate, CenterPoint didn’t cut any corners when equipping this bow. It can produce 121 ft-lbs kinetic energy. At 370 FPS firing speed, it is slightly less powerful than some of its cousins, but still plenty formidable for the vast majority of game.

Thus, while you will have to put a little effort behind cocking this bow, it is surprisingly easy even in tight quarters. While this does require additional force, CenterPoint did an excellent job of making the process extremely ergonomic. Unlike many of the other models in the CenterPoint lineup, the AXCM175CK is a rope-cock model, rather than a crank. For the times when I want a simple no-nonsense experience, the CenterPoint AXCM175CK is a winner. Often, a simple but well-made crossbow can be just as satisfying to use as a more complex model. It makes the entire process markedly more relaxing, not to mention safe.Īlthough I’m not averse to bells and whistles, I occasionally enjoy a back-to-basics approach with my tools and weapons. With their crank-cocker, you can simply crank this bow at your leisure rather than having to exert your entire weight. Thankfully, CenterPoint addressed this as well. Cocking a heavy bow is no easy task, especially in the confines of the woods. As much as I love bow hunting, I must admit that it can sometimes be a bit more of a workout than I bargained for.
CenterPoint makes using the bow easy as well. Depending on your choice of an arrow, you should have no trouble tackling most game with this bow. This is an impressive showing for a bow of this size and price point. As the name would suggest, this bow can fire up to 415 FPS with 153 ft-lbs kinetic energy. Silence and quality are just the beginning, however. CenterPoint went the high-quality route and made a beautifully quiet model. Silence is one of the main reasons many hunters are attracted to bow hunting, but so many models are disappointingly noisy. Using a combination of machined string stops, string silencers, and limb dampeners, this bow is almost entirely silent in operation. The CenterPoint Heat will never blow your cover. Anyone with any hunting experience can tell you that silence is one of your most valuable tools when you are tracking game. One of the most novel inclusions on this bow is the CenterPoint exclusive “whisper silencing” system. From a cursory inspection, you would be forgiven for thinking this was a much more expensive model that it is.īeyond the fit and finish, the features stack up as well. The frame is CNC-machined aluminum and is beautifully finished.

Starting with the chassis of this bow, the quality we have come to expect from CenterPoint is on full display. However, its approachable price doesn’t mean that it is lacking in features or performance. Among the wide-reaching crossbows in the CenterPoint arsenal, the CenterPoint Heat 415 is a solid mid-pack offering. One of the most admirable aspects of CenterPoint is that they offer a wide variety of products to fit a seemingly endless group of needs.
